Judgement Day just finished up a nine day studio camp out. We jammed alot. Here’s a dub version of one of the jams. This link will last 2 weeks.

Last Day Loop Jam

Wow. The video is amazing. Recording outside is awesome. This song is awesome. Thom Yorke performs like a seasoned veteran actor. Radiohead is my favorite band again.

Cotillion

December 3, 2007

I started a psychedelic rock band with Alexi, Zack, Burton and Blythe from The Botticellis and this dude Ryan from Melbourne Australia. It’s so much fun! Alexi, Blythe and Ryan have been writing the songs and I’ve just been jamming along on keyboard, violin and guitar.

Our first jam session was so sweet that I’m going to put up a song from it. We recorded it in the Botticellis’ practice space with 2 room mics but it sounds to me like it was recorded in a fancy studio some time in the early 70’s. I’m singing background and playing violin and a cheap keyboard going through an electro harmonix pog pedal. Ryan is singing lead and playing guitar. Alexi is playing bass. Zack is playing drums, percussion and singing harmonies. Here it is:

Take me to the River

November 20, 2007

The other night I came home and there was a crazy party going on at my house. There were like 10 people over (which is alot for our house since we don’t have a living room). My old friend Octavio who I hadn’t seen in a long time was there and he’s a really good singer so we decided to do a little jam. I layed down some keyboard while he played tambourine and then he overdubbed a vocal track with some improvised lyrics and I added some fake horns and organ. I mixed it a little bit and found a sweet spring reverb to put on. The horns sound a little cheezy to me but other than that I’d say its not bad for a drunken late night jam:

My name is Anton Patzner.

I live in San Francisco and record music in my bedroom. This blog is a collection of mp3’s of things that I record in my room. Sometimes they will be completely improvised jams, sometimes they will be works in progress or ideas that might become songs at some point. For the most part they won’t be finished songs so there will be alot of bullshit to sort through but hopefully a little bit of magic as well.

Today’s Jam

So I recently bought Logic Studio and it’s pretty sweet. I’ve been using logic for about 5 years but the newest version is a pretty big improvement. My brother Graham came over one day and while I was showing him how it worked we decided to record a little jam over one of the cool drum loops that we found. I played acoustic guitar and graham layed down most of the keyboard bass and strings. We spent about 20 minutes on it. Here’s what it sounds like:
